Euro School Chhauni recently hosted an exhibition showcasing the innovative (STEAM) projects of Grade 6 students. The event, held on August 15, 2024, at the school’s premises on Kimdole Marg, Chhauni, Kathmandu, revolved around the theme “Smart City.” The exhibition highlighted the creativity and ingenuity of the young minds in integrating Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Mathematics (STEAM) into practical solutions for urban development.
The event aimed to provide students with a platform to apply their theoretical knowledge to real-world problems, encouraging critical thinking and problem-solving skills. Each project was meticulously crafted to address various aspects of a smart city, including sustainable energy, smart transportation, waste management, and green architecture. The students’ projects reflected a deep understanding of the complexities of modern urban life and the need for sustainable solutions.
One of the standout projects was a model of a self-sustaining eco-friendly building. The students incorporated solar panels, rainwater harvesting systems, and green roofs to showcase how buildings can be energy-efficient and environmentally friendly. Another notable project was a smart traffic management system designed to reduce congestion and improve road safety using sensors and AI technology.
The exhibition also featured interactive displays and demonstrations, allowing visitors to engage with the projects and understand the underlying principles. Parents, teachers, and invited guests were impressed by the students’ innovative ideas and their ability to articulate the concepts behind their projects.
Ms. Rohini Pradhan, the principal including the department head and class teachers of Euro School Chhauni, expressed their pride in the students’ accomplishments. They emphasized the importance of STEAM education in preparing students for future challenges and fostering a culture of innovation. He also highlighted the school’s commitment to providing a holistic education that nurtures creativity and critical thinking.
The Euro School Exhibition not only showcased the talent and creativity of the Grade 6 students but also underscored the potential of STEAM education in shaping the future of our cities.
