Euro Playgroup, Learning About Fruits
Our little learners had a wonderful hands-on experience learning about fruits especially watermelon!
We started by exploring a whole watermelon, letting the children observe its color, size, and smooth texture. They were excited to guess what it might look like inside!
When we cut the watermelon open, the children got to see the bright red flesh and the tiny seeds. They touched it, smelled it, and of course enjoyed a little taste!
To connect this real-life experience with early math skills, we cut the watermelon into different shapes—triangles and circle. The children proudly matched the pieces to the shapes they’ve been learning about, discovering how food can become a fun learning tool.
It was a beautiful mix of sensory play, early math, and joyful exploration.
Nothing beats learning that is real, messy, delicious, and full of curiosity.
