Euro School Chhauni Excels at World Scholar’s Cup – Kathmandu Round 2026

KATHMANDU – Euro School Chhauni has once again proved its caliber as a center of excellence in learning and academics by showcasing its historic performance in the World Scholar’s Cup Kathmandu Round held from January 31st to February 3rd. With 28 teams of 84 students, Euro School produced unprecedented qualifying rates, securing berths for an impressive number of teams in the Global Round, as many as 25 teams. They attended the event with 19 Junior teams and 9 Senior teams, collecting 127 gold, 182 silver medals and 6 trophies, along with coveted team awards, along with excellent Debate Showcase selections.

In the Junior division, a masterclass performance was seen. Team 146 stood out, whose members included Aarya Karki, Araushi Shrestha, and Aakriti Rawal, securing the 2nd Place Overall Junior Team Trophy, besides trophies for Team Challenge 3rd, Team Writing 4th, and Team Debate 4th. Lustrous individual brilliance was underlined by Aarushi Shrestha’s 3rd Place Overall Scholar Trophy. Other stellar performances included: Top Individual Scorers: Prajna Tuladhar from Team 134 topped the medal tally with 10 Golds, closely pursued by Aarushi Shrestha, Aadibh Sharma, and Binamra Aryal. Debate Excellence: Aditi Dahal from Team 147 was selected for the prestigious Junior Debate Showcase-a distinction kept for the round’s finest elocutionists. Consistency in Excellence: Teams 134, 141, and 144 set themselves apart as some of the most decorated outfits in the category, sweeping multiple golds in writing and collaborative problem-solving.

The Senior teams continued to uphold the school’s high standards in an intensely challenging competition. In particular, Team 412 (comprised of Ashreya Shakya, Sampada Syanda, and Naswa Maharjan) emerged victorious with the coveted trophy for the 6th Place Team Writing Event. Three students of Euro School Chhauni also saw their experience and skill in senior debates affirmed, as evidenced by the selection of Naswa Maharjan to the coveted list for the Senior Debate Showcase, an honor reserved for only the top senior debaters in the competition. Outstanding performance by Teams 411 and 415 also greatly contributed to the medal haul for Euro School Chhauni. Clearly, the collaborative learning approach pursued by the school has well prepared them for success in such competitions. It is quite evident that the culture of collaborative learning has helped these students excel on this competitive platform. As these 25 teams look forward to participating at the Global Round, they do so with the appreciation of their educational institution and the determination of representing Nepal on this global arena. 

The competitions saw outstanding individual medal winners, excellent team trophies, and notable Debate Showcase winners for the two categories.

Junior Category (Teams 134–411)

Team 134

Ashish Pandey (5 Gold, 2 Silver), Arween Tandukar (4 Gold, 4 Silver), and Prajna Tuladhar (10 Gold, 2 Silver) delivered an exceptional performance, with Prajna emerging as one of the highest gold medal achievers in the round.

 

Team 135

Bebina Humagain (1 Gold, 2 Silver) secured commendable podium finishes.

 

Team 136

Soham Silwal (2 Gold, 2 Silver), Atharwa Poudel (4 Gold, 4 Silver), and Parikchit Singh (2 Gold, 3 Silver) demonstrated strong interdisciplinary performance.

 

Team 137

Saanvi Baniya (3 Silver), Aanvi Bista (4 Silver), and Aarushi Gautam (4 Silver) maintained consistent placements.

 

Team 138

Aaditya Karki (1 Silver), Bivaw Bidari (1 Silver), and Riyaz Bhattarai (1 Gold) contributed effectively.

 

Team 139

Aaron Sharma (1 Gold, 2 Silver), Prastav Giri (1 Gold, 1 Silver), and Krischal Thapa (2 Silver) showcased balanced performance.

 

Team 140

Manik Jung Sijapati (3 Silver), Roben Adhikari (2 Silver), and Apil Poudel (1 Gold, 3 Silver) achieved multiple recognitions.

Team 141

Aangshu Shrestha (1 Gold, 5 Silver), Joyace Shrestha (3 Silver), and Aryan Das (2 Gold, 3 Silver) reflected strong debate and writing capabilities.

 

Team 142

Aditi Gyawali (2 Gold, 2 Silver), Swastika Poudel (1 Gold, 2 Silver), and Prithu Bhatta (1 Gold, 3 Silver) performed impressively.

 

Team 143

Hemagini Silwal (2 Gold, 1 Silver), Shreyashi Sigdel (2 Gold, 1 Silver), and Rajwi Tripathee (2 Gold, 2 Silver) displayed remarkable consistency.

 

Team 144

Binamra Aryal (4 Gold, 6 Silver), Pranshu Raj Sharma (2 Gold, 5 Silver), and Samip Koirala (3 Gold, 4 Silver) were among the most decorated junior teams.

 

Team 145

Arsheya Shakya (2 Gold, 1 Silver), Prashana RL Shah (1 Gold, 2 Silver), and Naira Singh Dangol (1 Gold, 2 Silver) achieved notable success.

 

Team 146 – Outstanding Junior Team

Aarya Karki (4 Gold, 1 Silver), Aarushi Shrestha (6 Gold, 1 Silver), and Aakriti Rawal (5 Gold, 1 Silver) delivered a stellar performance.

Additionally, Aarushi Shrestha received the distinguished Trophy for 3rd Place Overall Scholar, recognizing her exceptional cumulative performance.

 

Team 147

Aditi Dahal (3 Gold, 2 Silver), Neekita Tulachan (2 Gold, 2 Silver), and Pratigya Khadka (2 Gold, 3 Silver) demonstrated strong academic and debate skills.

Notably, Aditi Dahal was selected for the Junior Debate Showcase, a special recognition reserved for top-performing debaters of the round.

 

Team 148

Anjit Dhamala (2 Gold), Aadibh Sharma (6 Gold, 3 Silver), and Arun Shrestha Roy (2 Gold, 2 Silver) contributed significantly to the medal tally.

 

Team 149

Riwaz Bhattari (1 Silver), Pramsu Lamsal (1 Silver), and Ryan Shrestha (1 Silver) secured commendable finishes.

 

Team 150

Saanvy K.C. (2 Gold, 4 Silver), Prajna Shrestha (3 Gold, 2 Silver), and Brigitta Bijukchhe (4 Gold, 2 Silver) maintained strong placements.

 

Team 151

Andrew Rai (2 Silver), Arnav K.C. (3 Silver), and Dev Jung Karki (1 Silver) performed creditably.

 

Team 411

Liza Parajuli (1 Gold, 4 Silver), Sarina Tiwari (2 Gold, 2 Silver), and Bipasana K.C. (2 Gold, 3 Silver) delivered solid performances.

 

Senior Category (Teams 412–420)

 

Team 412 – Senior Trophy Winner

Ashreya Shakya (2 Gold, 2 Silver), Sampada Syanda (3 Gold, 1 Silver), and Naswa Maharjan (4 Gold) achieved outstanding success.

Team 412 secured the Trophy for 6th Place in Team Writing in the Senior Category. Furthermore, Naswa Maharjan was selected for the Senior Debate Showcase, recognizing his excellence among top senior debaters.

 

Team 413

Aahil Lal Shrestha (2 Silver), Kawish Agrawal (3 Silver), and Aarush Gautam (4 Silver) displayed commendable effort.

 

Team 414

Samyam Lamsal (2 Gold, 1 Silver), Asim Panthi (1 Silver), and Pallab Kunwar (1 Gold, 2 Silver) performed effectively.

 

Team 415

Praanvi Sharma (2 Gold, 4 Silver), Seliya Aryal (2 Gold, 3 Silver), and Azappa Lohani (3 Gold, 2 Silver) were strong senior contenders.

 

Team 416

Anwesha Pandey (1 Gold, 2 Silver), Serene Tamang (2 Silver), and Samhita Aryala (4 Silver) earned multiple recognitions.

 

Team 417

Alaina Singh (2 Silver), Jisika Kunwar (1 Gold), and Agrata Poudyal (1 Silver) competed with determination.

 

Team 418

Rajvi Pandey (2 Silver), Ritisha Shakya (1 Silver), and Pratistha Shrestha (2 Silver) achieved commendable placements.

 

Team 419

Sonal Hamal (2 Silver), Anjina Dhamala (1 Gold, 1 Silver), and Yajaswi Basyal (1 Silver) contributed consistently.

 

Team 420

Adhishree Rana (1 Gold, 2 Silver), Ncika Chitrakar (1 Silver), and Tiara Shrestha (2 Silver) concluded the senior category participation on a positive note.

 

Euro School Chhauni’s remarkable achievement at the World Scholar’s Cup Kathmandu Round speaks volumes about the institution’s zeal in stimulating the cultivation of intellectual inquisitiveness, analytical mindset, collaborative learning, and internationalist outlook. By virtue of having 25 teams qualify for the Global Round of the competition and the numerous scholar trophy accolades for individual teams in the Junior as well as Senior categories of the Debate Showcase, Euro School Chhauni demonstrates its leadership position in global academic competitions. This phenomenal achievement marks Euro School Chhauni’s qualification for the Global Round with immense confidence, pride, and commitment to representing Nepal.
