Mr. Sudip Adhikari, a former graduate in International Relations and Diplomacy, has been teaching Social Studies for the past decade and organizing Model United Nations (MUN) conferences for the last six years.
This year marks the third edition of Euro MUN – Euro MUN 3.0, featuring eight active committees. Unlike the first MUN, which was held for two days, this year’s event spans three days of active sessions and discussions. The first and second days include four communication sessions each, while the final day features three competitions followed by the prize distribution and closing ceremony.
The opening ceremony was graced by His Excellency Mr. Shambhu Ram Simkhada, former Ambassador of Nepal to Switzerland and a distinguished UN member, as the Chief Guest. In previous editions, Euro MUN also welcomed Mr. Jhabindra Aryal, a respected career diplomat and former Ambassador of Nepal to Egypt.
Through Euro MUN, students get the opportunity to learn about UN specialized agencies, understand global diplomacy, develop negotiation skills, and express their opinions confidently in an international context. Unlike many MUNs that involve high school students, Euro MUN allows students from Grades 6 to 10 to gain early exposure to international relations and global leadership.
As Nepal continues to play a vital role in global organizations such as the UN and WTO, initiatives like Euro MUN help nurture young minds to become future diplomats, global leaders, and responsible citizens.
